Sustainability

At Asia Ecolodge, we run our business abiding by four key principles of sustainability, each of which helps us achieve an equilibrium that benefits everyone and everything involved in our operations.

A Heritage Amidst the Modern Flow

As urbanization gradually blurs the traces of the past, Hue remains steadfast in its effort to preserve the soul of the Ancient Capital. However, the signature "Garden Houses" - a symbol of harmony between humanity and nature - face the threat of being replaced by concrete structures. Preserving these green sanctuaries is not just about maintaining the landscape; it is about protecting a heritage lifestyle that has flourished for centuries along the poetic Huong River.

Environmental Protection

Most materials coming from nature are renewable and are used sparingly in our architecture. We also utilise solar power for outdoor lighting and other utilities, as well as greatly limit our use of plastics with paper straws, ceramic containers and refillable glass bottles.

Cultural Preservation

90% of the staff at our ecolodges are hired from local villages and most belong to ethnic minority groups who receive full training and opportunities to progress with us. We keep alive their beautiful and diverse traditions through nightly ethnic dances, local cuisine, local room décor and the use of traditional ethnic dress as staff uniform.

Responsible Tourism

We are proud to champion responsible travel and pass the benefits of our operations onto locals and the nature of our home. We always buy our ingredients and materials locally, as well as employing staff from disadvantaged backgrounds and offering workshops run by local artisans.
